Before its debut at the Detroit Auto Show in January, Cadillac has plans to reveal the new Cadillac ATS at the Detroit College for Creative Studies. If you're keeping track - that is one day prior to 2012's North American International Auto Show opening.
Why is GM revealing the new Cadillac model at the College for Creative Studies? The school and General Motors have a relationship. GM donated $145-million-dollarsto the school's 2009 renovation. But the true reason is an auto makers love of unveiling cars in unique locations - just ask Cadillac spokesperson David Caldwell:
"Sometimes it can be a little bit refreshing to step outside of the box. We can also do a few things there that we can't do as part of a traditional exhibit."1
ATS will make its way over to Cadillac dealers by the summer of 2012. The vehicle will be produced at GM's Lansing Grand River assembly plant. The company has hired 600 new workers for ATS production alone. GM; creating jobs, and supporting our schools - maybe Cadillac ATS should run for President in 2012.
